Beautiful photographs of your newborn’s first weeks just £189
Newborns grow so fast, its important to capture those precious first few weeks. Remember those tiny fingers and tiny toes for years and years to come.
The best time for newborn photographs is when baby is between 6 – 14 days old. Newborn photographs are done early so that baby is still very sleepy.
I advise all my Mums- to-be to book their session about 10 days after their due date. This is a provisional booking as most babies don’t arrive on their due date.
I will contact you closer to the time to see whether baby has made an appearance, and if not we simply push the session back. If baby does decide to make a slightly early appearance that’s not a problem, just let me know as soon as you can and we can bring your session forward.
I recommend booking in advance as my sessions do get booked up quickly, its important that the newborn session is done before baby is 3 weeks old.
In some situations it is possible to photographs newborns later than 3 weeks; if your baby was born early it might be possible for the newborn session to take place up to 6 weeks. Please contact me for more information.
The newborn session takes place in the comfort of your own home. I recommend that the session take place when baby is around 6-14 days old.
I will need a little space for the session about 2m X 2m to set up all my equipment; I bring with me a large kit of blankets backdrops buckets and wraps. If you have any props you would like to add to the photographs that’s not a problem at all, just have them ready for when I arrive. The newborn photography session can take up to 4 hours depending on how your little one is feeling on the day. It’s important that your little one is comfortable at all times; this is why I do not rush through any photo session.
I work through a verity of different poses, and go with what baby will let us do. Not every baby will allow us to every pose; baby’s comfort and safety are my main concern. There are a few things you can do to help the session run as smoothly as possible, firstly I recommend undressing your little one (keeping nappy on) and wrapping them in a blanket about half an hour before I arrive. Secondly I recommend aiming to feed baby as I am due to arrive, please don’t worry if this isn’t going to plan, it isn’t essential and we all know babies have their own ideas of how the day is going to plan out.
Thirdly it’s important that the room we will be using is nice and warm, especially in the winter months. We will be far too warm but baby will be nice and comfortable.
If we will be capturing sibling photographs with the new baby, I recommend dressing the old child in something plan, jeans and a natural top usually look great. I would avoid bright colours, texts or bold patterns as these will date your photographs very fast.
After the session I carefully edit through the best photographs from your session. I remove any blemishes, milk spots or baby acne, as well as jaundice.
Once I have edited your photographs you will be able to log in to the client area of my website and view the best photographs from your session.
The newborn package includes 10 digital photograph files which you can print from. You can choose which 10 images you would like included in your package from your online gallery.
If you would like any extra photographs they are just £10 per file or you can buy prints or canvases which start from £16.
Once you have informed me of which images you would like, a download will be created for you. When you log back in to your account your download should be ready.
Once downloaded you will be able to print from your high resolution digital files. Included in the download is a print release certificate, this states that you have permission to print these photographs.
